JVS considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they have been submitted only to JVS, that they have not been published already (including in another language), nor are they under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere. Articles for Journal of Vietnamese Studies should generally be 8,000 to 15,000 words, not including all endnotes and references. Each submission should be accompanied by (1) a cover letter with the author's name, address, phone number and e-mail address, (2) a 100-word maximum abstract, and (3) a word count. Since submissions are refereed anonymously, the author’s name should appear only on the cover sheet. All identifying traces of author’s identity should be erased from submission; these traces can usually be found in the document’s electronic properties as well as in the author’s acknowledgements, discussion of research methodology and references (e.g., “in my book, author’s name, title). Material submitted for publication should be submitted as an e-mail attachment, preferably in MS Word. Contributors are only required to format their submissions according to all JVS guidelines after their manuscripts have been accepted for publication.
Submissions should be made via Scholar One: https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ucpress-jvs.
For any other questions not addressed in any of the JVS guidelines, please contact the Production Editor at email@example.com.
